Discover Arizona’s rugged backcountry on this guided ATV adventure through the spectacular Box Canyon near Florence. After a safety briefing, follow your guide along a 34-mile trail that winds through red rock formations, slot canyons, and historic landmarks. Ride through a breathtaking 3-mile slot canyon where towering walls rise 1,500 feet above you, then stop to see Native American petroglyphs carved into stone. Learn about the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company and the Pony Express routes that once crossed this terrain. With elevation changes of over 1,500 feet, this 4-hour ride offers a mix of history, geology, and pure off-road excitement in the heart of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert.
Itinerary
07:30 AM – Check in at Florence, AZ meeting point (State Route 79)
07:45 AM – Safety orientation and vehicle assignment
08:00 AM – Depart for guided ATV ride into Box Canyon
08:45 AM – Stop to see Native American petroglyphs and historic adobe ruins
09:30 AM – Ride through 6-mile slot canyon with 1,500-ft cliffs
10:15 AM – Scenic mountain climb with panoramic desert views
11:30 AM – Return to base and conclude tour
